<img alt="0910_janay_ray_rice_getty2" src="http://ll-media.tmz.com/2014/09/10/0910-janay-ray-rice-getty2-1.jpg" /><strong>Ray Rice</strong> says hard liquor was the fuel that triggered his elevator rage and he hasn't touched the stuff in months ... sources close to Rice tell <strong>TMZ Sports</strong>.<br /><br />Rice told the Baltimore Ravens he and <strong>Janay Palmer</strong> had been drinking HEAVILY before <a href="http://www.tmz.com/2014/09/08/ray-rice-elevator-knockout-fiancee-takes-crushing-punch-video/"><strong>the altercation</strong></a>. Rice is telling friends he becomes a different person when he boozes it up ... so he's changed his life.<br /><br />But he hasn't changed that much, because we're told he still drinks wine ... just not hard liquor.<br /><br />Our sources say Ray and his wife have gotten deep into religion since the February incident -- they were both baptized in March when they decided to become Born again Christians.<br /><br />We're also told they've also done religious mentoring with other couples ... including NFL players and their wives.<br /><br />As for Ray, he issued a statement Tuesday saying he's trying to "work through this" -- noting, "We have a lot of people praying for us."<br />

George Zimmerman Questioned by Cops In Alleged Road Rage Incident

<strong>George Zimmerman</strong> allegedly threatened to kill a man in Florida earlier this week during a road rage incident ... and cops pulled over Zimmerman to grill him about it. <br /><br />According to the Lake Mary PD, a man named Matthew Apperson called 911 on September 9 and told the operator Zimmerman had pulled up next to him and began yelling, "Why are you pointing your finger at me? I'll f***ing kill you. Do you know who I am?"<br /><br />Apperson says he drove away to a store where Zimmerman followed him to continue the verbal barrage. Apperson called 911 from inside the store, but according to cops ... Zimmerman was gone when they arrived. <br /><br />Apperson claims 2 days later, he saw Zimmerman parked outside his work, and called police again. Cops responded and pulled Zimmerman over near the office. After questioning him, police decided not to press charges -- mainly because there was no independent witness.<br /><br />For what it's worth ... Apperson is white. Nicole Kidman Her Father Dies After Fall in Singapore

He was in the country visiting his daughter Antonia, Nicole's sister. <br /><br /> Kidman was a clinical psychologist and was awarded an Order of Australia medal in 2005 for his contributions to clinical psychology.  <br /><br />The University of Technology, Sydney (where Kidman had worked) confirmed his passing in a statement, saying, "It is with great sadness that we learn of Dr. Tony Kidman’s sudden passing ... Tony will be missed by all at UTS. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.”
